Steven Markowitz attended Long Island School for the Gifted in South Huntington. After that he went to d Plainview – Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School. He had always been a performer at parties and family gatherings. He had started to write lyrics since the time he was a child.
As mentioned above, he worked at Google after graduating from University of Pennsylvania, He had a degree in finance and marketing. He worked as an AdWord associate under the Standardized AdWords Reseller Training (START) program.
His timings were quite tough since it was his full time job. But he didn’t let his passion go away. He still used to write songs practice them and answer fan emails after coming back from work. Even though his musical career was a part time thing, he realized it is getting bigger and hence decided to leave Google once he got offers to perform live.

In 2008, when he started his music career, he released two street albums along with RJF namely Bagels & Beats and Making Waves. He won MTV’s award for Best Music on Campus in 2009. His major breakthrough was the release of his song “You are not a robot” in 2010 which he included in his first mix tape Pep Rally in 2009.
After that he worked on two more mix tapes namely Leap Year and Crew Cut released in 2011 and 2013 respectively. During that, Hoodie went to a 15 city tour across the United states of America which included New York City, San Francisco and Montreal.
In 2012, he released his first EP with the title “All American”. He said he wanted to pick such a title that could stay in people’s mind. It was debuted as the No. 1 album on iTunes and scored the number 10 position on Billboard 200.
In 2014, he released his next album “People Keep Talking” with a famous single “Show Me What You’re Made Of.” It secured no.2 position at iTunes. In 2016, he released his second studio album Happy Camper And in 2017, he released his third studio album: The Hype.
Hoodie also has started his acting career. Hoodie has appeared in four videos with a team named CollegeHumor with Jake and Amir. He acts as Amir’s Rap teacher.
